Poultry
Meaning
Poultry is any bird reared or hunted for commercial or consumption purposes. but there is more to poultry than that, poultry products has become a major source of food these days, there is rapid substitution for the red meat, now people eat more chicken than the beef (not everyone though but the numbers has improved). this is good news for farmers because of the great demand for the chickens they produced.
Types of Poultry
There are different types of poultry birds; I'll list them;
- Pullets( Egg layers)
- Broilers (Meat producers)
- Cockerels (Meat producers)
- Turkeys (Meat Producers)
everyone knows the egg layers some know the broilers and cockerel but people have very little knowledge of the turkeys
